Portside Rotary participated in United Way of York County’s “Day of Caring”, in a full day of work at Beachwood Park, Kennebunkport.  There were over 14 Portside Rotarians, along with Carol Cook and Bill Junker from Kennebunkport Recreation Department working on various projects at Beachwood Park, including moving the swing set, cleaning and weeding gardens, rebuilding a retaining wall, and a new fence.  Portside Rotary contributed $2,000 from our bottle collection proceeds toward the park clean-up project.  Portside Rotary will continue with this park project and take it on as Portside Rotary’s local community project.  Nonantum Resort hosted a benefit breakfast on Saturday, June 11 for Portside Rotary with a portion of those funds coming back to Rotary, specifically for Beachwood Park – thank you Nonantum!!.  A great community effort and we are not done yet – another Beachwood Park Clean Up date has been set for Friday, June 24 @ 8:30 – please contact Portside Rotary for more information on how you can help.
