KENNEBUNK PORTSIDE ROTARY RAISES OVER $8,000

WITH THE ANNUAL RIVERFEST DUCK RACES!

The annual event hosted by the Kennebunk Portside Rotary club is a community institution. You can spot club members selling ducks at HB Provisions, Bradbury’s Market, Arundel Wharf Restaurant and Stop "n Shop every weekend prior to the big event beginning the 4th of July weekend. This year the race was held on Saturday, August 16th.

People visiting the area and enjoying their summer vacations look forward to adopting a duck for the race which has a top prize of $1,000.00 to the lucky duck winner!

This year the grand prize winner was Paul Chick of Kennebunkport, who won the grand prize of $1,000.00.

There was also a display table with decorated large ducks and George and Barbara Bush sponsored a duck again this year with the theme "The Bush's Go Green".  Local businesses use imagination and creativity to decorate mallard decoys which will be judged during the Riverfest activities.
